- Successful completion of Peoria Area EMS System Testing Process
- Paramedic and EMT candidates must contact the Peoria Area EMS office for information on the testing process.
- Credentials Verification & Background Review
- AMT will conduct an employment review, certification review and a criminal background check on all candidates who qualify for the position.
- Candidate Interview
- Following verification of credentials and references, candidates will be scheduled for an interview with the appropriate department manager.
- Candidate Ride-along Opportunity
- Paramedic and EMT candidates will be asked to schedule a ride-along with one of our crews. Since we believe employment is of mutual consent, a ride-along provides a candidate the opportunity to interview AMT.
- Employment Offer, Terms & Conditions
- Successful candidates will receive a written offer confirming the terms and conditions of employment including wages, benefits and a comprehensive orientation plan.
- Post Offer, Pre-employment Screening
- Following an offer of employment, candidates will be scheduled for a health examination, agility test and a toxicological screening.
- Comprehensive Orientation Program
- Covers operations, communications, workplace safety, disaster management, and emergency driving.
